    Hey whats up I set up my wrt54g-tm in autoap mode and it works. But now I cant access the routers settings. How do I get back in. Thanks

    hello ENYPDEYour initial setup of the router to have aip address and subnet of its own is criticalto access the router during auto ap operation as your connected computer is now takeing DHCP from the host router.I recommend that you that you set up the SES button to turn off the radio when you need to make changes, this can get complicated to operate as depending on your network needs ,multiple static ip son you computer makes this easier to do but more to learn. john@ROCKNTV1

    after linksys firmware has been replaced you must use docs for the firmware you are useing which ever it may be, DDWRTOPENWRT TOMATO are a few , these are online only . I suggest you start reading there. To use ANy of these I would classifyas ADVANCED USER , and a basic graspon router functions would be an advantage, i will make more vids for this catagorie ,subscribe and you will see them first ,, thnx for watchingjohn@ROCKNTV1

    my real Q was does the linksys router comes whit some kind of set up cd when you buy it new and i would like to replace the firmware looks more useful

    thank you now i know cause i got a new wrt160n but that cd set up is for ppl who are limited on computers i dont need that i can do tthe set up useing the router ip and can do much more then what the cd lets me do

    N is the new standerd ,and i am useing DD-WRT firmware for which this modelcan handle the MEGA version. I outline some of the reasons we use this modelin my wrt54g vs wrt54g-tm vid. N routersare the fasters wireless transfers but fewer models accept the firmware andvariouse other reasons including the cost of a new N router to chance a bad flash.Newer models are less likley to have upgradeable external antennas which is huge in the realife usability of ANY wireless device.
