  5. ash55699 says:

    @RickatRITE

    Thanks for the comment

    1. Yes the app starts running behind the scene as soon as the phone boots up. Once you are in the wifi range, it’ll hook itself to the wifi network automatically. If you don’t want wifi calling at all, just flip the on screen switch to off.

    2. Yes it does that’s why it’s also called uma lite. My bb doesn’t drop either.

    Great vid – the most comprehensive info I’ve seen on this topic and I’ve been LOOKING!

    I’m still using UMA on my old Nokia and been itching to move to a G2 but can’t get T-Mob to give me straight answers – maybe you can help.

    1) You mention at the end of the video that you can leave the app running all the time – I assume it turns on and off automatically when you move out of wi-fi range?

    2) Does it drop the call if you go out of wi-fi range? My Nokia transitions without dropping.

    THANKS

    @ash55699 But what about internet browsing? Is that possible without using the data plan?

  14. ash55699 says:

    @AlbertoBarreradotcom wifi calling doesn’t use any data from your data plan … in fact.. you don’t even need a data plan to use wifi calling …

  15. AlbertoBarreradotcom says:

    If you turn off the radio and only use Wifi, do they charge you for the data that you use?

  16. ash55699 says:

    @macmagna1
    I mentioned the $10 unlimited hot spot calling that t-mobile had back in the days. You pay $10 per month and get unlimited wifi calling. Hope that helps!

  17. macmagna1 says:

    Did you say that all wifi calls use minuets unless you grandfathered the 10 unlimited hotspot calling? I can’t understand what you are saying.

Got something to say? Go for it!
