@littlegoobie thanks for the info, i’m gonna go try to update it to 5.0.1 with baseband preservation

  3. ldw3380 says:

im on 5.0.1 bb 4.11.08 i hear there is a way to down grade to unlock but i dont have shsh can i yet unlock ?

  4. littlegoobie says:

@BlazingTiger14 yes it will work. be very careful what you do though. Do not inadvertenly update from your ios 4.0.1 to a stock firmware eithery by yourself or by letting itunes do it. You WILL lose your currently unlockable baseband.

look up “custom ipsw” in the version and build it. The absolute very first thing you need to do is get “tiny umbrella” to save whatever shsh files you can…but i’m not too optimistic about what’s still available (determined by apple).

EVERYBODY TRYING TO UNLOCK BUT IS FAILING! the only baseband you can unlock for the iPhone 4 is 1.59.00. if its not 1.59.00, then you can’t unlock and theres no downgrading basebands. sorry!

@kabi5733 message me if you still need help

  22. Judennguyen says:

@theAlvinTran : there are two ways to activate it without an AT&T Sim card.
    – First method : you can find and download the ACTIVATED custom firmware for Locked version on the internet, then use it to restore your phone. After restoring, it will boot up by itself, no need to use the AT&T sim card. (but make sure to insert your sim card when booting up)
    – Second method : If you use the NON-ACTIVATED custom firmware for Locked version, you have to H@CKATIVE your phone by jailbreaking.
