only thing against is the jailbreak..
if i dont want to jailbreak my device.. the only solution is the warranty?
This happened to me last night , spilt water on my iPhone 4 . And no sound only headphone sound when plugged in !
Tried everything. Hard resets , cleaned the earphone jack, reset whole phone , still no sound ,even hair dryer for 20 min ! I gave up in the end as the battery was nearly dead so put in on charge .
I checked it 5 min later and what do you know the sound came back , don’t k iw if charging it fixed it but nothing else prior helped the issue till I charged it.

Thank man the apple store was tryna make me pay for a new iphone 4s they was saying it was water damage but i never drop my phone in water or have it expose to liquid. You just save me $150
If you install iOS 6 beta and you have the same problem then you’d have perform the same fix with iOS 6, however since the fix relies on a jailbreak you’d have to jailbreak iOS 6 first.
HEY I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM AND I TRYED YOUR WEY OF FIXING IT AND IT WORKED BUT THE THING IS I WANT TO INSTALL THE IOS 6 AND WHEN I RESTOR MY TO NEW THE PROBLEM COMES AGAIN AND IF I UPDATE THE PROBLEM IS STILL THERE IS THERE ANOTHER WEY OF FIXING THIS CAN YOU HELP PLZ
uhh when my headphones are plugged in while listending to pandora or itunes, the sound is still coming from the speakers and not thru the headphones.
This helped me out to get sound from speakers and adjust volume. Now when i plug in my headphones the speaker stills play w/ no sound in headphones. any suggestions??
I can’t play sound from a docking station anymore. Any way to have this AND working speakers on iPhone?

also worked on an older 3gs running 4.1 ….
